I simply cannot function after that as I was scared. I heard that Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease is very common in children but then the unknown always scares me. I remembered last Saturday, son shared spoons of rice with Dania (I fed my son together with my GodChild who is only 2 years old). I gave a call to my niece and asked how Dania is doing. She has high fever, my heart goes thump thump thump… “Girl, please check for any blisters or spots on her mouth, hands and feet. Kyran kena HFMD so I’m scared, she also kena infected.”
That is why we always need to educate ourselves to things we’re not familiar with. I went browsing for HFMD *Thank Goodness for the Internet and The World Wide Web!*. Basically HFMD is common and there’s no cure for it. What we need to do is to ease the blisters, itchiness and warmness… Give him lots of water to drink, cooling water if possible and check for any fever. Usually the first symptom is fever then blisters in the mouth then followed by spots on the hands and feet. Fortunately Kyran has no fever only the blisters and spots on his hands and feet. I’m so sad *what mother wouldn’t?* to see all these tiny spots on his little body. So Kyran will only go to school next Monday.
After Hunky told me that Kyran has HFMD, I immediately called his kindie but unfortunately his class teacher went home and spoke to the VP (Vice Principle) instead. It seems that there was a HFMD case last week but from a different class. Son most probably had come into contact with the student maybe in the playground etc. This is the only negative side of sending son to school as he is more prone to things such as this.
I hope there will be no fever and according to the browsing I did, the blister and spots should be cleared in 3 or 4 days.

Sean had HFMD contracted from his school last year. As long as you give him liquid then it should be fine. It will subside after 3 -4 days. Take care.
